History in Support of Ethnology

We must differentiate between ethnicies and their translocations (wanderings etc.), taking with them their inherited culture, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, dominance by powers of different ethnicy and their cultural influence. This influence may eventually, but not always, lead to the extinction of the original culture.

Ethnic research has, therefore, to take into account the different original ethnicies as well as their partly differing cultural development which may subdivide them. Historic research can cast a light on the "why" of this subdivision.
